RunningHub Duck Decoder Browser Extension Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 2026-02-19

This Privacy Policy applies to the browser extension "RunningHub Duck Decoder" (hereinafter referred to as "the Extension"). We value your privacy and data security. This document explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

1. Scope

This Policy only applies to data processing activities when you install and use the Extension in Chrome or other compatible browsers. It does not apply to data processing independently carried out by the RunningHub website, Bilibili (bilibili.com), or any other third-party websites or services.

2. Data We Collect and Use

The Extension only collects and uses limited data necessary to provide its features, including:

2.1 Device and Browser Information

  • A device identifier generated or hashed by the Extension.
  • Basic runtime information such as browser type, version, and extension version.

This information is mainly used to identify authorized devices, prevent abuse, count anonymous usage, and diagnose runtime issues.

2.2 Account and Authorization Information

  • RunningHub account identifiers and authorization status.
  • Tokens or encrypted credentials used for login verification and activation checks.
  • Some public information during Bilibili activation/verification (such as UID, login status, and whether a qualifying "charge" has been made).

We do not obtain your plaintext passwords. Tokens are only used to securely communicate with our server, for example to verify membership status and sync activation results.

2.3 Usage Statistics

  • Daily usage counts and status (such as whether the free quota is exhausted).
  • These statistics may be associated with the device identifier or account ID to prevent abuse and keep the service stable and fair.

2.4 Local Storage and Cookies

  • We use browser storage or local storage to cache authorization tokens, configuration parameters, and language preferences.
  • When visiting RunningHub or Bilibili pages, the Extension may use or read cookies in your local browser environment to detect login status and verify membership.

The Extension does not tamper with third-party cookies and does not disclose cookie values to unrelated third parties.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

During your use of the Extension, we do not collect or store:

  • Plaintext passwords, payment passwords, or bank card numbers.
  • Original text, images, or file contents related to the decoded materials (they are processed only in memory and not uploaded to our server).
  • Highly sensitive identity information such as national ID numbers.

4. Purposes of Data Use

We use the collected data only for the following purposes:

  • Providing core features of the Extension, including authorization and membership status checks for RunningHub and Bilibili-related features.
  • Counting usage, preventing malicious abuse, and maintaining the stability and fairness of the service.
  • Improving the product experience, such as debugging errors and optimizing compatibility and free-quota strategies.
  • With your consent, providing notifications related to your account status, such as activation success or authorization expiry.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party. We may share data only when:

  • It is necessary to communicate with our backend server to verify device status, membership status, or order information.
  • We are required to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or lawful requests from authorities.
  • It is necessary to protect our legitimate rights and interests (for example, investigating abuse or attacks) within a lawful and reasonable scope.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.

6. Data Storage and Security

  • Data related to authorization and activation may be stored in our server-side database with appropriate technical and organizational safeguards.
  • Device identifiers and tokens are stored in encrypted or hashed form where possible to reduce the risk of misuse.
  • We keep data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above and delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable laws and technical feasibility, you have the right to:

  • Access: learn about basic information associated with your account or device (such as activation status) via the Extension or by contacting us.
  • Rectify: request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Delete and withdraw consent: uninstall the Extension and contact us to request deletion of related server-side data associated with your account or device, where permitted by law.
  • Object or restrict processing: in some cases, request that we stop processing certain data, understanding that this may affect the availability of some features.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is intended for users with full civil capacity and is not directed to children. If you are a minor, please use the Extension under the guidance of a guardian. If we become aware that a child has provided data without guardian consent, we will take steps to delete such data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time due to feature changes, legal requirements, or other reasonable reasons. For material changes, we will use appropriate means (such as a prominent notice on this page) to inform you. The updated Policy takes effect upon publication unless otherwise stated.
